Ask on WhatsAppHow We May Support Your Issue
Your session is chosen around the problem, not forced into one method. These are the main treatment styles used across Hijama, cupping and recovery therapy.
Wet cupping
For Sunnah Hijama, detox goals, body heaviness, general wellbeing and targeted wet cupping.
Dry cupping therapy
Plastic suction cups without incisions, often used for tight muscles and localised tension.
Muscle scraping
Stainless steel tool work for stubborn restriction, old tightness and areas that feel stuck.
Movement assessment
Useful when tightness, training load or restriction needs more than a simple massage.

EXCELLENT Based on 60 reviews Posted on SmlazyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Went to Herts Cupping mainly for ongoing tightness in my back and shoulders from work and gym training. I originally thought I just needed a sports massage, but the treatment was a lot more targeted than what I’ve had elsewhere. Had a mix of muscle work and cupping done and honestly felt a noticeable difference in how loose my back felt afterwards. Didn’t feel rushed and they actually explained what they were doing and why certain areas were causing problems. The clinic was clean, private and professional throughout as well which made the whole experience better. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for cupping, sports massage or general recovery treatment around Hertfordshire.Posted on MLNTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Tried everything for my back and shoulder pain. Physio, osteo, acupuncture, dry needling, you name it but no luck. Then, a buddy suggested wet cupping and the scraping thingy. Looked scary online, but hey, desperate times. Surprisingly, got massive relief in one session. Back pain gone in 10 mins, and even survived the wet cupping. Uncomfortable but worth it. Best sleep in ages! Awesome service, the guy's cool. Definitely telling my friends and fam.Posted on Scott LewseyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I visited Herts Cupping for a sports recovery session as I read about their unique approach. The combined treatment was thorough, professional and tailored to the areas I was struggling with as I gym alot. The clinic was clean and well organised. Highly recommended if you're open to trying something new. The wet cupping definitley helped lift a lot of stress.Posted on Fung PoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had cupping therapy and the graston muscle scraping for gym recovery and lower back stiffness. Really professional service which is VERY rare in Hertfordshire and the session felt properly tailored.Posted on KayTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve had cupping sessions in Watford, Harrow and Stanmore before, but after a cousin suggested Hertfordshire Cupping, I thought I’d give it a try — and I’m really glad I did. I’m based in Hemel Hempstead, so it was a convenient option, but what really stood out was Brother Shahid’s expertise and knowledge. He clearly knows what he’s doing and takes the time to explain everything, which made me feel comfortable and confident throughout the session. On top of that, he’s a genuinely nice and humble brother, which made the whole experience even better. I’d highly recommend Hertfordshire Cupping to family and friends, and I’ll definitely be returning.Posted on Haroon HanifTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Abdus Shahid was very kind, funny, and made the whole session feel very comfortable and relaxed. He really listened to my concerns and tailored the treatment accordingly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for someone who’s both skilled and easy to talk to!
When to get medical advice first
Hijama, cupping and massage are not a replacement for medical assessment. Please seek medical advice first if you have severe unexplained pain, numbness, weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, suspected fracture, suspected blood clot, fever, infection, recent trauma, unexplained swelling or symptoms that are getting worse. If you are unsure, message us before booking and we will advise honestly.

The method depends on the problem
We do not treat every person with the same routine. Hijama is the core treatment at Herts Cupping, but some problems are better supported with dry cupping, fire cupping, deep tissue work, IASTM muscle scraping or a combined recovery session.
The safest way to choose is to look at your symptoms, your health history, the area involved and what you want from the session. If you are unsure, WhatsApp us before booking and we will guide you.

Common Questions
The questions we hear most from people trying to work out whether our approach fits their pain, tightness or recovery needs.
What if my condition is not listed?+
The conditions on this page are the most common reasons people come to us, but they are not the full list. If you have a specific pain pattern, tightness or restriction that is not covered, message us on WhatsApp and we will let you know whether our approach is suitable before you book.
Can you help if I have already tried massage or physio?+
Many clients come to us after trying massage, physio or other treatment. We cannot guarantee results, and some conditions need medical assessment, but cupping, Hijama, IASTM and deep tissue work may help when muscular tension, soft tissue restriction or recovery load is part of the issue.
Do I need a doctor's referral?+
No referral is needed for general cupping, Hijama or recovery sessions. However, if your symptoms are severe, unexplained, worsening, injury-related or include numbness, weakness or neurological signs, you should seek medical advice first.
What should I book for Hijama detox?+
For most clients booking Hijama for detox, body heaviness or general wellbeing, Signature Hijama is the best starting point. If you are unsure because of medication, a health condition or a specific concern, message us first.
What should I book for back pain?+
For general back tightness, dry cupping or cupping massage may be enough. For clients who specifically want wet cupping, Hijama is available. For recurring back pain or multiple tight areas, Targeted Recovery + Hijama may be more suitable. You can also view our back pain page.
What should I book for neck and shoulder tension?+
Neck and shoulder tension often responds better when the upper back, traps and surrounding tissue are treated together. Depending on the case, this may be dry cupping, cupping massage, Hijama or recovery work. You can also view our neck pain page.
Do you have anything for desk-work pain?+
Yes. If your pain is linked with sitting, laptop posture, driving, tight shoulders, stiff neck or lower back tension from desk work, read our desk-work neck and back pain guide.
How many sessions will I need?+
It depends on the issue and how long it has been there. Some clients only need one session. Long-standing tightness or recurring patterns may need a few sessions spread out over time. We will advise realistically and will not push treatment that is not needed.
