Targeted Recovery
Focused work for one main region such as back, shoulders, glutes, hamstrings or calves.
Calm manual therapy · private St Albans clinic · Hertfordshire
A quieter one-to-one massage option. If you later want a broader recovery approach, dry cupping, scraping and wet cupping (Hijama) are available in the same clinic.

Wet cupping option
Hijama is wet cupping. Choose it on its own, or book Targeted Recovery + Hijama (£95) or Full Body Recovery + Hijama (£135) when you want hands-on recovery and wet cupping in the same appointment. You do not need to be Muslim to choose Hijama.
Ready to book recovery?
You don’t need to read the whole page or decide between massage, cupping and IASTM first. Start with how much of the body needs work, then choose whether you also want Hijama.
Focused work for one main region such as back, shoulders, glutes, hamstrings or calves.
For several loaded areas, heavier training weeks or broader whole-body recovery.

Book a sessionRelaxation without a spa routine
A relaxing session can stay light to medium pressure with no cupping or tool work. It can also include firmer work on a specific area or dry cupping for a different release effect, provided that’s discussed and comfortable.
The clinic is private and one-to-one rather than a spa or shared wellness space. You don’t need an injury or a complicated physical complaint to book; general tension and the need to switch off are enough.
A calm session still has a clear structure
The appointment begins with a short conversation about pressure, areas to avoid and whether the session should be fully relaxing or include focused work. You remain covered except for the area being treated, and feedback is welcome throughout rather than saved until the end.
After the massage, normal hydration and gentle activity are usually enough. If dry cupping or Hijama has been included, the aftercare changes and marks may remain temporarily. Clients should mention medication, pregnancy, recent procedures or health concerns before the session so suitability can be checked rather than assumed.
Three clear directions
The session doesn’t need to become a muscle recovery treatment unless that’s what you ask for.
A calm full-body session at light to medium pressure, designed to help you decompress without a sports or clinical focus.
A small amount of controlled suction can be included for areas that feel tight while keeping the overall pace calmer.
Choose a combined booking only when wet cupping is also an important goal. Hijama has separate preparation and aftercare.
Who commonly books
The session can be adapted without turning every preference into a separate treatment menu.
No specific complaint is required. Many clients want quiet time and physical relaxation.
A lighter session provides a clear introduction, with pressure adjusted continuously.
Clients may book periodically as part of a wider routine that includes sleep, activity and time away from repeated work demands.
Relaxation is a good place to start when a client doesn’t want intense pressure or multiple techniques.
Desk work, parenting and normal daily load can create tension without a fresh injury or severe symptom.
New injury, severe pain, significant swelling, numbness or weakness needs appropriate assessment rather than massage.
