About Herts Cupping
Private cupping and soft tissue recovery clinic in St Albans, serving Hertfordshire.
Our Story
I opened Herts Cupping in 2023 because there was genuinely nowhere in Hertfordshire offering Hijama or cupping therapy at the standard I believed it should be done. The options were either travelling into London, or settling for home-based setups with questionable hygiene. Neither felt right.
The demand was there from day one. We opened our permanent St Albans clinic shortly after launching and haven't looked back. What started as a Hijama practice quickly grew into something broader once I realised that cupping alone wasn't always enough. Some clients needed deeper work on their fascia and soft tissue that standard massage couldn't provide.
That's when I trained in IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation) and started combining it with cupping. As far as I'm aware, we're still the only clinic in Hertfordshire offering that combination. It means we can address restrictions at multiple tissue layers in a single session, which makes a real difference for clients dealing with long-standing issues.
What makes this clinic different
Private, 1:1 sessions
Every session is just you and your practitioner in a dedicated treatment room. No group bookings, no shared spaces, no rushing through.
100% single-use equipment
Everything that touches your skin is sterile, medical-grade, and disposed of after your session. Nothing is reused. Ever.
IASTM + cupping combined
The only clinic in Hertfordshire combining Hijama and cupping with IASTM muscle scraping in the same session. Deeper work, better results.
Who you'll be working with
This is a small clinic by design. I'd rather do fewer sessions properly than more sessions badly.
Abdus Shahid
Lead Practitioner
Every session at this clinic is with me, personally. I take the time to understand what's going on with your body, build a plan around it, and make sure you leave with clear aftercare. I don't take multiple clients at once and I don't hand you off to someone else.
I'm certified in Hijama Cupping Therapy through the Hijama Clinic (2023), and hold an International Diploma in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation, a Myofascial Cupping Practitioners Diploma, and a Diploma in Trigger Point Therapy, all through OMT Training.
I take ongoing professional development seriously because the people coming through the door trust me with their bodies, and that's not something I take lightly.
